About Mississippi Beta
Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Mississippi State University (Mississippi Beta
Chapter) has been in existence for 18 years
now. From the beginning, the founding members of Mississippi Beta
recognized the importance of friendship, sound learning, and moral
rectitude, the three cardinal principles of Phi Delta Theta. The
chapter was built on these values, and the members will tell you, our continued
commitment to these three principles is what makes fraternity life at
Mississippi Beta an incredible experience.
We realize that college life encompasses much more than school and
socializing. Our members understand the importance of campus involvement; and, as a result,
we claim membership in over 30 campus organizations.
Community service
and philanthropy are important to us as well. By volunteering for
Habitat for Humanity, Adopt-A-Highway,
Camp Seminole Boy Scout Camp, Toys for Tots, Salvation
Army, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Project Brickfire, St.
Jude, Palmer Home for Children, and the American Heart Association,
to name a few, we are able to give something back to our community and help
those less fortunate than ourselves.
In addition, we are glad to support local and national philanthropies. Our members proudly host an annual campus-wide
volleyball tournament at the chapter house with all proceeds going to a charity
of the chapter's choice.
All the while, we are able to maintain a chapter grade point average that is consistently
higher than the all-fraternity average and we demand respectable academic
achievement from every man in our chapter.
Many of our brothers have gone on to work for some of America's biggest and best
corporations; and more of our alums, per capita, choose to continue their education with
a graduate degree, particularly in business, law, and medicine.
We see fraternity as more than just a word. It's a way
of life. Phi Delta Theta is The Standard for Brotherhood at
Mississippi State.
