Our goal as a fraternity is to help fund scientific studies and examinations as well as help those who have ALS. Every year Phi Delta Theta, Mississippi Beta chapter hosts an event called Casino Royale. At this event, actives, alumni, families, and friends come to Starkville to support the ALS Association. The event is hosted in honor of Ralph Doxey (Bond# 195), our brother who passed away from ALS in August of 2016. He was married to Megan Crosswhite Doxey and has a daughter, Harper Doxey.
Ralph was initiated in the Mississippi Beta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta on January 13, 2000. His father, former state senator Ralph Doxey, Sr. is a member of the Mississippi Alpha chapter (Ole Miss) of Phi Delta Theta, as was his late grandfather Wall Doxey, who served as both a U.S. Representative and U.S. Senator. A native of Holly Springs, Ralph was the son of Ralph and Jean Doxey. He was a graduate of Marshall Academy.
The event is a casino-themed fundraiser including blackjack and roulette tables at Hotel Chester in Starkville. The event will have a live band, silent auction, and raffle with all proceeds going to the ALS Association. The event will take place on April 6th. All proceeds from the event will be given to the ALS Association to help with their fight against this disease.
We hope that you will show your support for The ALS Association. Every bit helps, and we hope to have your help and support for this event.
