▪ Submits an article
for publication in the fall and spring issues of The Phi Delt Blues
News
▪ Presides over two
Parents Association meetings annually; Generally on the Saturdays of MSU
Homecoming in the fall and Super Bulldog Weekend in the spring.
▪ Responsible for
implementing the plan(s) that the Parents Association approve with
regards to the use of Association funds (coordinating volunteers/ hiring
someone to do the job, arranging for supplies/materials,
working/communicating with the Housing Corporation and/or Alumni Board
representatives, and communication with Executive Committee of the
Chapter).
Vice President: Vacant
▪ Ascends to
President at end of President's tenure (The length of which is
determined by mutual consent of the two officers);
▪ Responsible for
printing and distribution to Association members of the Chapter
directories by Homecoming weekend. Not as daunting as it sounds: Alumni
Board rep compiles all of the information and assists with
production/printing. VP primarily responsible for mailing (cost covered
by the Association), and most Directories are distributed at the
Association meeting in the fall;
Treasurer: Missy Ragan
▪ Collects and
records all deposits of dues and makes all disbursements for Association
bank account;
▪ Maintains bank
account and accurate list of paid members;
▪ Provides financial
report at semi-annual Association meetings.
This position should involve as infrequent personnel changes as
possible.
Secretary: Vacant
▪ Responsible for
publication and distribution of the semi-annual newsletter, Phi
Delta Blues News (If
you've enjoyed the newsletter then please consider volunteering your
assistance here).
▪ Takes minutes at the semi-annual Association meetings and provides an
email to all parents for whom msuphi has address that summarizes actions
at that meeting.
Chairman of the Moms Club/Social Chair: Pam Smith
▪ Responsible for
the planning and coordination of the parent-sponsored dinner during fall
rush. This includes coordination with Chapter’s Housemother, ordering
food, recruiting parent volunteers, preparation and feeding shish-k-bobs
to approximately 300 guys. Typically occurs on Wednesday of Rush Week
and requires spending at least one night in Starkville.
▪ Responsible for contacting the Housemother before semi-annual
Association meetings to organize/coordinate food/lunch/brunch for the
meetings.
Vice Chairman of the Moms Club: Rebecca House
▪
Assists the chair with activities described above. Will probably
require spending at least one night in Starkville during fall Rush
Dinner.
▪
The vice chair would step up to chair at the end of the chair's tenure
(The length of which is determined by mutual consent of the two
officers).
